Ugh - Monday

It was an OK weekend. The weather was windy Friday and Saturday and I didn't go diving. I probably could have gone out Sunday but I didn't call anybody.

I ruined my phone yesterday, I cleaned the touchscreen with alcohol, it got all inside, wrecking the backlight.

Last night we sat out on the back porch, the moon was beautiful, and, playing with my camera, I got some good shots. I have had many Canon Powershot Cameras, with this one I am going to learn ALL the features.

Sunday Morning

It's Sunday, I'm up, the wife is still sleeping.
I showered, walked the dogs, had some cereal and am drinking coffee. I'm thinking about going for a bike ride. I put new handlebars on my bicycle last week.
It was a windy weekend and I don't think there is any diving going on that I'd be interested in.

But this coffee is dang good!

Fun with my camera!

Yesterday I was playing with some of the functions of my camera that I don't normally use. It was pretty cool I thought:
Replacing Green with Blue
Everything Black and white except green (The guy looks like a bronze statue!)

Replacing skin tone with blue. Didn't work too well. but neat effect!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I got off early yesterday, and I have the day off tomorrow, but I'm working today! But I'm not complaining. Tonight The Wife and I are going to a Thanksgiving dinner. Usually it is a pretty big event, poolside, a hundred or so people, and very disorganized. We will see how it is this year. My friend has a dinner every year, and I haven't been for a while.

Here's some pics from my beachwalk yesterday.

Partagas Dinner

Last weekend I went to the 19th annual Partagas/Casa Del Habano cigar dinner. It was a weeklong event and the dinner was the closing. There were raffles, auctions, dancing girls, and of course, cigars.

I uploaded all my pics to Photobucket, HERE. Also I am trying a new slideshow experiment below. Check them out, there's over 200, It takes the same amount of time to look at them as it does to smoke a cigar. You can do both at the same time!

Turtle Relase

Yesterday I stopped at the beach for a half mile swim, after I got done it slowly dawned on my dim little mind that the beach was more crowed than normal. So I wandered around, eventually asking someone what was going on. There was a Turtle Release! Several times a year, the Turtle Farm here releases turtles into the wild.

Of course, it was so crowded I didn't actually see anyone actually put any turtles in the water, but I did see several turtles with trustworthy turtle-release agents.

Gag me with a spoon

This morning I was coming to work, usually the traffic is pretty light. Today I hit a pretty big backup. Having a scooter, I pulled into the center lane and went around.
There was a cute puppy playing with a cute young chicken in the road. Oh they were frolicking joyfully and cutely.
I'm not saying I would have run them over.
But if I had my camera and took pics, you'd be ooooh-ing and ahhhh-ing, making me want to puke with the cutness of it all.

What a yesterday

Yesterday was a day. For sure.

First I collected some big rocks for our circle. I planted all the plants earlier.

Then I went to the beach with my wife. It was nice, but these kids scammed me out of my cigar lighter. First one guy asked me if I had a lighter. I said yes and pulled out my lighter. He said he wanted one he could take to his boat. I said sorry, I need mine.

Later, a kid came over- "My uncle wants to know if he can borrow your lighter, we are just going to use it over there." I figured they were going to fire up a spliff over in the trees, so after making the kid promise he'd bring it right back, I let him take it.
They were gone gone gone.

Then I came home, and got a Facebook virus, which sent out messages with the virus to all my Facebook friends. How embarrassing. I was suckered yesterday.

Cayman Islands taken over by pirates! Governor Captured!

Saturday the Cayman Islands was attacked and taken over by Pirates. No one was injured (except hangovers) but the Governor's stunt double was taken hostage.
This reporter happened to be there and at great personal risk and danger, got the story:

It was a normal weekend downtown,

Like normal, the Governor was there with his normal security contingent.

Suddenly a pirate ship appeared!

Heroically realizing instantly that attack was inevitable, I quickly and heroically and at great personal risk and danger, (and minor personal inconvenience), disguised myself as one of them, (So I could get the story)
I heroically was able to save my Wife by getting her disguised too!

The pirate ship fired upon and destroyed the George Town Fort!

Ironically, the pirates had to be transferred to a tender to come ashore. This may have been the Governments Defensive flaw! If the government provided no tender, would have the pirates been able to come ashore? No one will ever know!

The pirates overwhelmed the tight security and captured the Governor!

The captured Governor was paraded as hostage!

Wild mayhem ensued, there was pirate revelry in the streets!

Out of control madman, on a captured human steed!

Seems like more than one shipful of pirates!

Pirate Fiends!

No one can predict what will happen next, the pirates are in control! If you don't have travel plans to visit the Cayman Islands, make some! We need all the help we can get!

Pirates Week 09

Pirates week has started. The government was talking about changing the name, but I think they backed off of that. Last night was the opening street party and fireworks. Today is the landing.

Friday the 13th, my lucky day

Friday the 13ths have always seemed lucky to me. I can't think of any specifics, but I've always felt that way.
I have the day off today. That's lucky.

Yesterday I had an estimate to get a roof over the front porch. It is an area 6 feet wide and 34 feet long. They quoted me 2500 dollars for a 3 inch thick insulated poly roof with aluminum skin. Plus an additional 1850 if I wanted it screened in. That's about 21 dollars a square foot. I can get brick and electrical wiring and light fixtures and marble floors for 21 dollars a square foot. Can't I?

Pirates week starts this weekend, I assume I'll be working but so far nobody has said anything . . .
A good sign or a bad one.

Sleep

Last night we were so tired that we went to sleep at about 8PM. The Wife, of course is an expert sleeper, and slept all the way till morning. I woke up at midnight, and was still wide awake for several hours. I finished my book, Fluke, By Christopher Moore. Really good read
Then I played some games on my phone, and when the alarm went off at 5:15, i was sleeping good.

I feel OK though, I got enough sleep. We'll see how the day pans out.

Coffee

Lately it seems like I can't make a decent cup of coffee. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've been making coffee every day almost forever, and the last couple of weeks something has been wrong. The Wife made some yesterday, and it was great, so it's not the equipment, it's me.

Today is a holiday, Remembrance Day. Remember your veterans.

Friday was a holiday too. But I worked every day but today. The Wife is working today, but I guess I'll go to the beach if I can.

Today is Thursday, Tomorrow here is a holiday, but I have to work. And I'm working Saturday, and Sunday. Monday is a holiday too, but it looks like I'm off for that one! Then Tuesday is back to the regular work-week!

I love my fukkin job because my job loves fukkin me!

Actually these days, I wonder if it's my job that sucks or just my attitude, I think the latter.

My life is like a see-saw, when one thing gets worse, something else gets better. But the overall good-bad ratio (balance) seems to stay the same.

My House

When I was coming back from Florida, I took these pics from the plane: They are not great quality because the plane was moving approximately one million miles per hour.

Back to work

I went to the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. It was really good. But I was sick the whole time. Bad cold.
As usual, I couldn't connect to the internet while I was there. My wifes computer worked in our room but mine wouldn't.
Here's some pictures from the boat show.
